Why I shouldn't be Allowed Near a Garage

I have always been interested in the mechanical arts, if something so named even exists. I love the idea of going out to the garage and wrenchin' for a while.

The only problem I have run into is that I have all the metal working skill of Helen Keller. For example, this last weekend I was over at my good friend Cody Wentz from Custom Classic Trucks magazine attempting to help him and his brother work on his bitchin' 71 Chevy Pickup. I was given the simple task of drilling about 15 holes in about 6 feet of angle iron. I ended up costing him 2 broken drill bits (some times I underestimate my own strength) and I wore out about 4 more and only took me 4 hours. After all was said and done, the piece I "fabricated" wouldn't even work.

That is how my help usually goes; I end up taking forever, breaking everything I touch, and in general causing more harm then good. I think next time I go to help out I'll go back to my former position of "official get in the way and drink beer guy," and I think that suits me just fine.
