Brian Hladeck, of El Segundo, California, is the lucky owner of this full-size 2003 Hot Wheels Deora II hot rod, which was on display at the '08 Grand National Roadster Show.

For 59 years the Grand National Roadster Show has been the first indoor custom car show to kick off each new year. For the last five years the event has taken place in Pomona, California at the Pomona Fairplex. The 2008 edition occured last Friday, January 25, through Sunday, January 27. At this event the AMBR award is presented, which stands for America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize. Each year, there are some open top street rods without roll-up windows from the 1900's through the 1930's that vie for the prize. In other words, you can't compete with a Cobra roadster for the AMBR. You can compete with such a car in a different class.

What we'd like to know is, did anyone who visits this web site or reads KIT CAR make it to the '08 event and the '07 show? If so, which did you prefer? I preferred the '07 event, because there was an entire building dedicated to celebrating the 1932 Ford and its 75th birthday. This exhibit was curated as well as some of the many automotive museums I've visitied throughout the years. But, that's my opinion. What did you think?
